Statement: The photograph is of Raoul A Ibarguen (my father) when he was about 10 years old, posed in a chair in his home in Havana, Cuba (1928?).

I used fabric with drawings of classic buildings to represent his life as an architect, the Cohiba ribbon to reference Cuba, and the crocheted square just reminded me of his mother, Ester. I made two of these pieces the year my father died - one for me and one for my sister.
