Statement: This piece was the result of a project swap challenge in the Studio Art Quilt Association's Northern California group. Old unfinished projects were swapped and the challenge was to recycle the materials into a new work of art.

My piece incorporates pieces of an old traditional quilt block in muted greens, pinks, and biege made by Louise Schiele. I decided to update the tone with some bright contemporary fabrics. Upon completion, however, I realized that "everything old, is new again" -- the color combinations as a whole seemed very '70's.

The colors also reminded me of one of my best friends, Julie.
