Statement: This is the first in a series of works exploring the graphical contrasts in the natural coloring of a Dalmatian with various background compositions.

The Dalmatian is based on photograph of my first dog, who I named Cherokee (after the title of a song popular at the time), hence the title "C-Spot".

"Spot" could reference either the spots on the dog or a moment in time (a "spot" in time).
